DI Mag. Johann Zimmermann mit der 120% nachhaltigen NaKu PLA-Flasche

The 120% sustainable NaKu PLA bottle – the world’s first from Austria!

Can something be more than 100% sustainable? The new NaKu bottle made of PLA/bioplastic achieves this feat: 100% vegetable raw materials/PLA plus 20% recycled PLA guarantee natural and absolutely plastic-free* drinking pleasure.

The raw material

NaKu organic bottles or PLA bottles are made of natural plastic, made from renewable (vegetable) raw materials (PLA – polylactic acid), which are guaranteed to be free of any plasticizers (phatalates, etc.). In addition, they are 7% lighter than conventional plastic and thus also save CO during transport2. At the end of their product life cycle, the NaKu PLA bottles can be easily recycled or composted** and therefore do not pollute the environment with long-lasting plastic waste or microplastics.

Plant based raw materials and recycled vegetable raw materials

By combining plant-based raw materials with resource-saving recycling of bioplastics, NaKu can come a step closer to its vision of a sustainable yet practical plastic bottle. The NaKu PLA bottles are suitable for food as well as for cosmetics or cleaning agents. Despite its lower weight compared to PET bottles, the material of the NaKu PLA bottle is very hard and rigid.

NaKu Managing Director DI Mag. Johann Zimmermann is not satisfied with the milestone of the 120% sustainable NaKu PLA bottle and is already researching further development:

“The 120% sustainable NaKu PLA bottle means a big step towards sustainability and the circular economy. However, NaKu is already working on the continuation of its vision: not only to be able to offer a bottle with 120% sustainability, but 200%: 100% renewable raw materials and 100% recycled renewable raw materials.”
